The Mall

I've only been there like once or twice. Blaine and I used to go walk around the other malls when we were in high school, but the practice died out as we discovered that mall-walking is boring since the shops are also boring. Anyhow, that stopped well before this place was built. Since I've been very poor for the entire time this mall's been open, I don't particularly feel any need to go there on a regular basis.

The Street

So this mall was such a big fucking deal that West Des Moines renamed 74th street the Jordan Creek Parkway.

The McDonald's

This store, f.k.a. 74th Street, used to be the most "way the fuck out there" store to get to from the east side, where I'm from. Now there's a store in Norwalk I guess. But anyhow, the easiest (and quickest) way to get there is to take 235 east to the mixmaster, 35/80 west, aaaaaaaall the way until 35/80 merges back with 235 and becomes 80 west, then take the next exit to Jordan Creek Parkway. The McDonald's is right there.

This store is the size of a postage stamp; the grills are right in the way of walking from the front to the back and they work on that side of the prep table so the people in grill are in the way. Everything is stacked really close together too, which helps drive thru times, but sucks for fat people. The employees don't seem to mind since it's likely the only store they've ever worked at, but going from E33rd, a bigger store, to this one, yeah that sucked.
