McJob McAntics 2
From Bellybuttonporn
Part of the reason I went the wiki-way with bbp.com was so that I could write on topics outside of the normal flow of blogging (time/date).
So here we go: McDonald's
But anyhow, back to your regularly-scheduled blog entry. I took the job at Jordan Creek because Blaine needed help on night-side. (As an aside, every McDonald's everywhere needs help on nightside) So that was fine my first week; I just worked the exact same hours as Blaine. Then when the January schedule came out I found, to my horror, that Ally had scheduled me primarily daysides.
So my problem is this: I want to apply for jobs. In fact, I have already applied for several. Now that the holiday season is over, many of these places are picking up the big stack of resumes they recieved in december, dusting them off, and calling applicants. For the past couple of days my phone has been ringing off of the hook! Wait, that's bad; I'm at work when they call. I. Can't. Answer.
To top it off, Ally has been wanting to sit down and talk to me about my future at McD's. (Did I mention this before? Maybe, but she hasn't talked to me since then, so it's next week some time, maybe.) I hope she got the message when I was hired that this 40 hours a week thing is temporary. I don't really want to accidentally insult her or anything; she's very nice. However, the fact remains that for me, McDonald's is no longer a real job; it's something I'm doing until I can get a job more closely related to my degree. Oh sure, I'll stick around and work a day a week on the weekends if I get a local job, just because it's fun, but that (if even that) would be the extent of it.
I was going to post some McStories but I figure I should just make a whole different page for those. There. Ok, it's a category. How about the tale of the Insistant Thieves, for starters.
